Retainers
Types of Retainers
We're proud to offer a variety of different retainers for different purposes. Here are some of the most common retainers we use:
Hawley Retainers: One of the most common types, this removable retainer is madefrom a combination ofmetal wire and sturdy acrylic composite. We'll fit you for impressions, then use those to make yourown custom retainer - we even have a variety of fun colors to choose from, so you can personalize your Hawley to fit your unique sense of style!
Fixed Retainers: Bonded lingual retainers, also known as fixed retainers, are certainly the easiest kind to keep track of - they never leave you're mouth! Instead, they're bonded directly to your lower canine teeth using dental cement. While they're easier to keep track of, it's imperative you keep them clean, so always remember to brush them carefully with a toothbrush. If the wire breaks at any point, don't try to fix it by yourself - call us immediately and we'll schedule an emergency appointment to fix it.
Essix Retainers: Essix retainers are similar to Invisalign, as they're made from a clear plastic tray that fitsdirectly onto the dental arch. They contain no metal wires and are virtually invisible when worn, making thema great choice for wearing during the day.
